‘Keep Midvaal Clean’ campaign intensified by over 140 CWP workers

Midvaal Local Municipality has intensified its Keep Midvaal Clean campaign, starting in Sicelo Ward 10.

MEYERTON. – Over 145 Community Work Programme (CWP) workers are hard at work, cleaning various wards in Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM).

This follows an intensified ‘Keep Midvaal Clean’ campaign which aims to keep the areas within the municipality spotless.

MLM’s MMC for Development and Planning, Mokete Motsamai says, “CWP workers were in Sicelo Ward 10 today sweeping the streets, cleaning out weeds, clearing illegal dumpsites and beautifying the area.

“On Tuesday 21 February, the clean-up campaign will move to Ward 8 with a team of 140 workers. On Wednesday, 22 February, another CWP team will be in Savanna City, Ward 11 to continue with the campaign.”

Motsamai says the campaign will expand to different parts of the municipality including outlying areas.

“This will be done to ensure that our residents live in a dignified, safe, and clean area. We call upon Midvaal residents to do their part and refrain from dumping illegally and join hands as we continue to keep Midvaal clean,”Motsamai concludes.
