MLM issues update on damaged bridge along Jim Fouche Road

MLM Mayor Peter Teixeira states that the municipality will ensure that urgent remedial action is taken should further assessments indicate any further safety concerns.

MIDVAAL. – Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) has on behalf of its residents written to the MEC for Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport, Kedibone Diale-Tlabela requesting her urgent intervention in fixing and continuous maintenance of the bridge along Jim Fouche Road.

MLM Mayor, Peter Teixeira says the department conducted assessment tests and determined that the bridge is safe to use following the request.

“The department will conduct further assessments and implement remedial action where required. The bridge along Jim Fouche Road is an important asset in our community. It facilitates greater mobility, broadens access, and enables local economic development,” he said.

Teixeira states that It is for this reason that MLM will ensure that urgent remedial action is taken should further assessments indicate any further safety concerns.
