SEDIBENG.- Curro Vanderbijlpark is proud of its learners for their recent achievements and wishes them all the best at the South African Championships as they fly the Curro Vanderbijlpark flag high.
Jano Robberts Grade 8:
Jano will be participating in the South African Biathlon on the 1st of April 2023 in Stellenbosch. Jano will be awarded full colours (Free State) after taking part in this event.
Katiana Wiese Grade 6:
Katiana participated in Sedibeng District trials for SAKA (South African Kickboxing Association) on 6th February 2023 in Meyerton. Due to her being a green belt, she received provisional placement in the Sedibeng team and was required to place at the Gauteng trials (SAKA Great North 1 Tournament), to secure her place in Gauteng.
She competed on 11 March 2023 at Great North 1 held in Pretoria in the Older Cadets Under 46kg categories for point fighting, light contact, and kick light.
She placed 3rd in point fighting, and 2nd place for light contact and kick light. Despite being a green belt, Katiana had competed on blue to black level to be invited to South African Kickboxing Championships 2023 to be held in Limpopo on 28 – 30th April.
The purpose of the SA Championships is to determine and select the National and Presidential Squad for 2023/2024.
