EVATON CULT: Harrowing details of 42-year-old’s murder

A source close to the investigation of the Evaton exorcism shared harrowing details of how a father, son and daughter cut open their biological mother with a scissor before being found red-handed by police.

EVATON – What happened to 42-year-old Phumeza Mnyamezeli, who was slaughtered and mutilated by her own family during an exorcism ritual by her husband and two children in Evaton, was nothing short of a horror film.

Even master horror filmmakers such as Stephen Spielberg would be left in awe by the real-life actions of what happened on that fateful Monday day at Beverly Hills.

Sedibeng Ster crossed paths with a source close to the investigation who shared the harrowing blow-by-blow details of how the trio; Charity Ntla (father), Buhle Mnyamezeli (daughter), and Tumelo Mnyamezeli (son) came together in an unholy trinity in an attempt to cast demons out from their mother.

According to sources who arrived first on the scene and witnessed the bloodied room where the failed exorcism took place, the alleged murderers used candles, drums, a scissor, and a knife to perform their sacred ritual.

Information at Sedibeng Ster’s disposal is that the family attends a sacred church in Bramley, Johannesburg, where, it is further alleged, Buhle, a mastermind of the ritual learnt to cast demons out.

As the exorcism student, Buhle led the ritual and gave instructions on what to do. As she tried to scream and shout for help, Phumeza’s family pressed her to the floor with a cloth on her mouth and proceed to cut her open.

“The three accused, held down the deceased on the floor, with the father holding the legs, the son closes his mother’s ears, pressing her arms with his knees, while Buhle performed the ritual. She slit her mother’s throats while she was stripped naked and pierced her upper body in a circular formation before she lost her life,” the source said.

The ritual took a drastic turn when Tumelo cut open his mother from the neck to her private parts.

“While he was cutting his mother, the father (somehow) left the house and ran to the police. As Tumelo continued to cut open the back of his mother with a scissor while sitting on her back – police pounced and caught them (literally) red-handed,” added the source.

The Evaton community now lives in fear as the house where the horrific incident happened remains abandoned while the accused are behind bars.

Today, July 13, the trio appeared briefly at the Sebokeng Magistrate’s Court where they were appointed a state lawyer who told the court how her clients abandoned bail.

The 26-year-old Tumelo, 60-year-old Charity and 24-year-old Buhle were charged with murder and mutilation of human body.

The case has since been postponed to September 1 for further investigations.
