IN PICS: Musa Motha celebrated in his hometown

“Today we are here to appreciate and showcase the talent we have around the community of Vaal," Emfuleni Local Municipality Mayor Sipho Radebe on Musa Motha tours.

VANDERBIJLPARK – For almost a week now, Vaal was alive with jubilation as Musa Motha was celebrated following his arrival from the United Kingdom.

From the first day landing in Mzansi, the 27-year-old was showered with surprises and gifts by different entities, including government.

This past week, Motha, an amputee international dancer who won many hearts during his appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, was honored around Sedibeng District.

Visiting one school to the next, malls and popular hangouts, the Golden Buzzer winner never missed his scheduled appearance.

On Saturday, July 22, Motha was accompanied by his family, government officials from both Emfuleni Local Municipality and Sedibeng District Municipality for his activation tour.

Accompanied by fellow creatives who also had their fair share of popularity, Musa was flanked by prominent individuals such as ballet dancer, Cebisile Banda, Idols SA’s Lucia Jakeni, and writer and model Gabisele Galela among many others during his meet and greet in different malls.

Emfuleni Executive Mayor Sipho Rade thanked different center managers for allowing the entourage to use their spaces for the activation.

“Thank you for allowing us to use your malls and disrupting business by bring these stars. Today is not business as usual as many shoppers are glued to the festivities carried out in different malls,” he said.

“Today we are here to appreciate and showcase the talent we have around the community of Vaal. To parents, let us allow our kids to show their talent in everything they desire. We are not motivating children to not go to school because they want to follow their dreams, however we are saying give you’re your aspirations a try, if it fails, studying is the only option to get wherever you want in life,” he added.

Giving a motivation to kids gathered in the crowd, Motha said “staying positive at what you desire and being consistence will make one’s dream possible. Everything in life happens for a reason, acknowledge situation you are going through and stop questioning things. Nothing is impossible, I never thought that one day I will be celebrated like this.”

During the tour, Banda showcased her dance moves as a winner in ballroom dancing, Jakeni sang songs to cheer the crowds and Galela gave motivation as a young writer and model.
