SASOLBURG – Matshepo Kompe (39) from Sasolburg has left a permanent mark at the prestigious Thuba Pelo Mosadi Women of Worth Awards held in Midrand.
The event, which drew achievers from various fields, witnessed Kompe’s outstanding achievements as she clinched five fashionable awards: Game Changer, Social Media, Innovator, Influencer of the Year, and Wellness Advocate.
Thuba Pelo Mosadi Women of Worth awards ceremony was a night to remember, filled with glitz, glamour, and celebration of remarkable women who are making a significant impact in their respective fields.
Kompe, a name synonymous with empowerment and innovation, stood out among the stellar lineup of nominees.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Kompe said “Being nominated to these awards was an honour, and bringing back the prizes was a special thing. The awards are held by an organisation to empower women who work towards uplifting the community.”
“I received a nomination in July regarding the work I do in the community. I run a number of campaigns with different people. If I can list a few, I deal with widows as I am one myself and help them deal with the challenges they face. I also work with children, elderly among many other organisations and people,” she said.
Sharing her jubilation, Kompe said “The different categories of these awards that I won, speaks to one’s conduct and how the people see us. This means one really lives to the standards of good conduct and it means a lot to know that there are who see us as an inspiration.”
“This is a life-changing token for me. Each category means different people saw something in me that I didn’t notice about myself. This is a sheer definition of what one stands for,” she said.
Detailing her future plans, Kompe said she is doing underground work to select a number of centers she is going to work with through her organization.
“I am looking forward to starting an organisation that will touch the lives of those who are less fortunate and brings about change. I am willing to work with more organisation in my area, and I have pinpointed a few including one center that deals with disability and the elderly,” she said.
