Lesufi says slain warden paid the ultimate price

Lesufi said that it was unfortunate that Gininga paid the ultimate price fighting to save the community.

ORANGE FARM. – Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has spoken out about the senseless killing of law enforcement officials. Lesufi said criminals have decided to be lawless and not respect the community, property, or life.

Lesufi was speaking during the funeral service of Gauteng Crime Prevention Warden (CPW), Jabulani Gininda (35) who was gunned down while on duty on 13 October near the Orange Farm taxi rank.

Gininda was laid to rest on Saturday, 21 October. Gininda was assigned to the Orange Farm Police Station.

Also, present at his funeral was the Gauteng MEC for Community Safety Faith Mazibuko, Gauteng Traffic Police, and other government officials. Hundreds of CPWs were also seen paying their last respects to Gininda.

Lesufi says, “On days like this we feel the pain that families are going through. Many other families are going to go through this if we cannot stop crime,” he said.

Lesufi thanked Gininda’s family for granting him their support when he stepped up to become one of the people who are going to fight crime in his community.

Lesufi said that it was unfortunate that Gininga paid the ultimate price fighting to save the community.

“We will be with you in good times and in bad times, what you are doing is not only a calling but a commitment to make our communities live in peace,” Lesufi stated.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster recently, Department of Community Safety spokesperson Ofentse Morwane said he was saddened to confirm the incident.

Morwane reiterated that the killing of law-enforcement officers will not be tolerated as it undermines the work and presence of law-enforcement officers within communities.
