The home side, NB La Masia won the game 1-0.

It was a great game of football to watch with both teams attacking each other from the game’s first minutes. Casric Stars were unfortunate when the assistant referee disallowing what seemed to be a clear goal. This entertaining match was marred by controversy with some questionable referee’s decisions.

Casric Stars were at the receiving end; with every decision going against them for the better part of the game, much to the annoyance of their bench and supporters in the stands. However, NB La Masia enjoyed “12-man” support on the stand as the home team. La Masia uses Isak Steyl Stadium for their Motsepe Foundation Championships home games.

This was the first game for former Orlando Pirates midfielder, Dain Klate who was recently appointed as the NB La Masia Head Coach with Moeneeb Josephs as Goalkeeper Coach. At one stage, these two were teammates at Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana.
