“The ELM remains in ICU”: Khithika

"We view the outgoing president's visit to the collapsed Emfuleni as nothing but an attempt to strengthen his forces."

SEDIBENG.- The Economic Freedom Fighters in Sedibeng has said that it is aware of the “outgoing state president”, Cyril Ramaphasa’s visit to the collapsed Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) through the non-moving and costly district development model (DDM).

EFF Sedibeng Cairpeson, Isaac Khithika said that as an organization that represents the truth and is always on the side of the people, they will also be doing the same oversight visit with the president. This, he said, they will we do to tell the exact material conditions in the “collapsed municipality” correctly.

” We want the people of Gauteng and South Africa at large to know that the ANC government in Sedibeng has, for the past 29 years, turned what was once a water station into a desert. The sewer continues to run the streets of Small Farms (Evaton) and Sebokeng and everywhere else, waste continues not to be collected in Boitshepiville and many parts of Emfuleni.”

Khithika added that the situation in Emfuleni, in terms of service delivery, remains in the ICU.

“Section 139 came but could not assist, and the army came but could not assist there is nothing to write home about the Section 63 intervention. It is no secret that the ANC government has failed the people of
Emfuleni. We view the outgoing president’s visit to the collapsed Emfuleni as nothing but an attempt to
strengthen his forces towards the current motions of no confidence being submitted and the subsequent inevitable loss at the 2024 national and provincial elections. As things stand in. Not even the state president’s visit will stop the idea whose time has come. “
