SEBOKENG.- Floyd Mahano (45) is living his passion of being a radio sports presenter for one of the leading community radio stations, Theta FM.
Mahano’s passion for radio started back in 2003 as a freelancer on Lesedi FM. His sports show competes with some popular national radio stations where he interviews some of the high-profile sports administrators, coaches, and players.
One of the high-profile coaches that he once interviewed despite being at a community radio station was Pitso Mosimane.
Mahano told Sedibeng Ster Sport that this will remain the highlight of his radio career. In an interview with Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mahano said that he started to fall in love with radio after listening to retired Lesedi FM popular presenter, Chomane Chomane who hosted the morning drive show known as ‘Hare Ye’.

Mohano said other sports presenters/commentators who inspired him to fall in love with sports presenting are Thabo ” Mr Cool” Kofa (Lesedi FM ), Aubrey Motloung, and the late Cebo Manyapelo both from Motsweding FM.
Mahano is a young man with ambitions to see himself working for one of the leading national radio stations and own his television sports channel. No doubt, he is one of the up-and-coming sports presenters who have worked hard to be recognised in the radio industry.
“I’m living my dream to be a sports presenter and this is my passion, my first love has always been to be behind the microphone. This is who I am. I love being behind the mic and doing what I love most talking about sports, especially the challenges sports people are faced with in the Sedibeng region.
Mahano ends by saying that his job is to be the eyes and ears of the community.
“I’m in the best place to serve my community through the microphone. For me, radio is not a job but a passion. One day I want to have my own TV sports channel. I want to leave a legacy for people to remember me for serving my community through radio,” he concluded.
