6-years-old Thando dreams of playing for Banyana Banyana

"I always tell my mother that one day she is going to watch me on television playing for Banyana Banyana."

VEREENIGING.- At the age of six Thando Makhoba is already dreaming of playing for Banyana Banyana.

This pocket-sized player was one of the most outstanding players during the Cancer Awareness Games held at Leeuhof soccer grounds in Vereeniging last Saturday. Despite playing with takkies, an oversized playing kit, while kicking an oversized soccer ball on an unplayable soccer ground, her performance was outstanding.

Makhoba was all over the field helping her teammates and to make it interesting, she was playing in a mixed team of boys and girls in the u11 category. Makhoba who plays for FC Belladonna told Sedibeng Ster Sport that her dream is to play for Banyana Banyana.

“I always tell my mother that one day she is going to watch me on television playing for Banyana Banyana.
Whenever Banyana Banyana play I don’t miss their game on TV and I always tell myself that one day it will be me who my parents will be watching on TV,” she told Sedibeng Ster Sport.

All in all, despite her team losing 2-1 to Sedibeng United, Makhoba had a great game.
