Two dead after suspected suffocation inside shack

Sango states that the cause of the incident is suspected to be a generator that was running all night.

SHARPEVILLE. – Two people were declared dead while three others had to be rushed to hospital following alleged suffocation inside a shack at Tshepiso Phase 3. The incident happened on Saturday morning.

Neighbors on the scene said that there had been loadshedding in the area the previous night and they heard the sound of the generator. They said that when they entered the premises, they noticed that the victims were vomiting and couldn’t talk properly.

Police spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango reports that police rushed to the scene after receiving a complaint from the owner of the business who on his arrival, found that five people had collapsed.

“The complainant told police that he and his colleagues hatch chickens at the place of business in Tshepiso. He further reported that on his arrival, he found five people lying helplessly on the floor.”

Sango states that the cause of the incident is suspected to be a generator that was running all night.

“Two people were declared dead while three others were rushed to Sebokeng Hospital. Police are investigating an inquest case docket,” She stated.
