Metsimaholo mayor launches 100 days service delivery outreach programme

The first citizen of Metsimaholo Local Municipality says the 100 days service delivery programme will yield positive results despite financial hiccups.

SASOLBURG – Despite political instability and service delivery headaches in Metsimaholo Local Municipality, the first citizen, Jack Malindi is adamant about bringing change in many communities.

This was witnessed during his optimistic 100-day service delivery outreach programme which was launched on Friday, December 01 in Orangeville community hall.

Malindi was by members of his mayoral committee, councillors, and directors at the municipality.

Several stakeholders such as South African Police Services, the National Prosecuting Authority of South Africa (NPA), the Social Development Department, and the Health Department formed part of the entourage on the day.

Some of the service delivery activities included in the outreach comprised cleaning illegal dumping sites, patching potholes, Traffic Law Enforcement, and public education on fire and disaster.

As the outreach was launched on World AIDS Day, the mayor used the day to also commemorate through candlelight.

Following the launch, Malindi appreciated the work being done by various stakeholders and the high turnout.

During his address, Malinda said “This project is going to assist us in improving our service delivery methods. Despite the financial challenges we are facing as the municipality, we can provide necessary services to our communities. Hundred days from now, we should be able to point to some of the milestones brought about by this outreach.”
