Here we go again!

"We have become a laughing stock to the world."

SEBOKENG.- It is Do or Die for Bafana Bafana in their next African Cup Of Nation (AFCON) campaign against Namibia on Sunday.

Bafana Bafana suffered a 2-0 defeat against Mali in their opening game of Group E on Tuesday.

Now Bafana Bafana has a mountain to climb against Namibia come Sunday. If Bafana Bafana fails to beat Namibia they must just pack their bags and come back home. TOUCHLINE, however, must mention this, in previous tournaments, Bafana Bafana came back home after the group stages.

Every time they came back, the headline would say, “It is back to a drawing board for Bafana Bafana”. We have been in the drawing board for the past 20 years.

Thanks for nothing!

After Bafana Bafana’s defeat against Mali, I said to myself “Here We Go Again”!

The truth is that we are not progressing as the football nation, particularly men’s national teams. We are stuck! In an interview with former Bafana Bafana midfielder, Augustine Makalakalane, he said there are no more small countries. He said this before Bafana Bafana’s match against Mali on Tuesday. He was right because Mali is regarded as one of the small nations when it comes to football but it beat South Africa with all the resources we have.

There is no secret, that South Africa is one of the best African countries when it comes to resources, especially sporting facilities. Other African countries wish to have the facilities that we have here back home but every time we come second last to countries with fewer resources.

How so?

We have become a laughing stock to the world for not qualifying for the biggest tournaments in the world despite all the resources we have. TOUCHLINE hopes Bafana Bafana will turn the tables against Namibia to stay in the tournament.

Bafana Bafana players must die with their boots on to make sure we proceed to the knock-out stages because coming back home will be an embarrassment.
