Parties congratulate matriculants

"Good education begins with quality Early Childhood Development (ECD)."

SEDIBENG. – While congratulating the class of 2023, ActionSA in Sedibeng has called for a better education system to empower young people.

The party has called on schools to better equip our youth and educators by providing them with the necessary tools and learning materials that will empower them to gain the required skills and knowledge.

ActionSA Sedibeng said that the education system in South Africa continues to fail children and in turn, this results in poor educational outcomes where many of the youth lack the necessary skills and knowledge that would grant them access to economic opportunities.

ActionSA leaders and members nationwide have embarked on an educational campaign that includes visiting schools amongst many other activities to kick off the opening of schools last week. The main reasons for the campaign were to assess the readiness of schools, challenges encountered by parents, staff, and students including the government’s progress regarding the construction of more schools to tackle overcrowding.

Constituency Chair, Sunday Mthimunye and Constituency Secretary Dan Papane visited local schools last week.

“We as ActionSA, believe that education is the key to a better future. We see the transformation of our education system as our key priority, and only then will we see South Africans become empowered through quality education that will grant them the chance to achieve shared prosperity and economic growth. Education creates upward social mobility; and requires not only the teachers but also the whole community. We believe it takes a village to raise a child and that must be reflected in our education system,” said ActionSA SA Emfuleni Region Media Liaison Officer, Jan Motloung.

Furthermore, Motloung said that they believe that good education begins with quality Early Childhood Development (ECD).

“It is therefore crucial that all ECDs establish a strong foundation required for a productive educational journey from a young age. We would like to congratulate and commend the class of 2023 in the region, Gauteng, and South Africa for the promising results they have achieved.”

Meanwhile, the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Emfuleni Central Constituency Political Head, Dady Mollo also congratulated all matric learners of 2023.

Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have paid off, and we commend you for your outstanding results.”

Mollo also offered support to those who did not make it.

“Education is a lifelong journey, and setbacks should never discourage you from pursuing your dreams. We believe in your potential and urge you to explore alternative paths, seek guidance, and never give up on your aspirations.”
