Delivery driver killed in a collision at Vaal Mall traffic light

A horrific accident claimed the life of a delivery driver in Vanderbijlpark on Monday.

VANDERBIJLPARK – A male driver who works for a popular delivery service was knocked over and killed during a motor vehicle accident on February 10.

The tragic incident happened at the traffic lights at the Vaal Mall after the motorcycle the man was traveling in collided with a light motor vehicle.

Several role players were on the scene including ER24, police, and security companies.

The man’s lifeless body remained on the side of the road next to his squashed motorcycle that was lying on its side.

Dozens of bystanders gathered to watch, leaving traffic disturbed on Rossini Boulevard and Helena Lochner Street.

While Ster was on the scene, the man’s spouse arrived and broke into hysteric cries of disbelief.

Ster learned that the man worked part-time as a delivery rider when he was off duty at his regular job.

Police later arrived to investigate the scene and take statements.

Vanderbijlpark police spokesperson, Sergeant Sabelo Sigcu confirmed the incident.

“A case docket of Culpable Homicide has been opened. According to information at our disposal, it is alleged that the motor vehicle and a motorcycle collided whilst the motor vehicle was turning. The rider of the motorcycle was declared dead at the scene by the paramedics. An investigation is underway to determine what exactly what transpired,” he said.
