Another clean audit in the bag for Midvaal

This includes, among other things, performance reports, annual reports, as well as procurement and contract management, revenue management, and asset management.

MIDVAAL – Midvaal Local Municipality mayor Peter Teixeira has always emphasised that service delivery should not only be seen but should be felt and experienced.

This has come through in the 11th consecutive clean audit achieved by the municipality for the 2023/2024 financial year.

The announcement was made by the Office of the Auditor-General (AG) during an ordinary Council meeting held on Thursday, 30 January 2025.

The municipality was audited on its financial statements, annual performance report, and compliance with legislation.

This includes, among other things, performance reports, annual reports, as well as procurement and contract management, revenue management, and asset management.

The AG found that the municipality is spending enough to maintain the infrastructure to ensure sustainable and continuous service delivery in the Midvaal region.

In the integrity and transparency category, the Auditor-General noted the continued implementation of daily disciplines and the strengthening of a culture of accountability through effective consequence management.

“This reaffirms our commitment to financial accountability and good governance. The audit outcome highlights our commitment to being a transparent and accountable government.

“We will continue to work even harder to ensure that clean audits translate into tangible service delivery.”
