Masedi’s new single another social media craze

From 'Paxama' to 'Haona dieta', MasediZA continues to set social media trends through music.

VANDERBIJLPARK – He released a song in 2016, and it became the talk of the town with dozens embarking on a social media ‘paxama pose’ craze.

Now, Masedi Mokhothu has done it again with Haona dieta, which has seen the Vaal falling into yet another Facebook frenzy.

Popularly known as MasediZA, the 33-year-old keeps putting the Vaal on the map, giving a spotlight on the Italian culture of living.

Speaking to Ster, Masedi explained how the concept for this new flaming song came about.

“I got a call from Toss and Nadia Nakai, who are featured in the song, telling me they want to jump into the music style saItaly. We then got in the studio and started recording,” he said.

Masedi said the single will be released soon, however, the trio is trying to build hype around the tune for the launch day.

“Last week of May, or the first week of June, the song will be officially out,” he added.

Giving his reaction to the reception of the song, Masedi said he is delighted, and everything was going the way he wanted it.

“The continued love means a lot, and seeing people going crazy on this sound means a lot to me. I want to give the song more weeks so that the love grows even bigger.”

“We are unapologetic about the kind of music we give to our people. The Vaal is a country on its own, and the unfiltered culture should never perish,” he said.

Several music video shoots for the song are underway, and the preparation and planning stages are at an advanced stage. While focusing on the tune, Masedi still has another project in the pipeline, including an album recording underway, featuring giants in the music industry.

As if all this good news doesn’t sound like good music to his ears, the pride of the Vaal has also recently signed a distribution deal with Universal Music.
