SASOLBURG – Former Lesedi FM presenter and music compiler, DJ Finzo, announced his new gig with Moja Love on June 15.
Real name Phinel Sefatsa was visiting the City of Love Restoration Full Gospel Church in Sasolburg, when he told the gathered congregation that he had signed a new contract with the channel.
DJ Finzo was recently axed by Lesedi FM over allegations of taking payola from Free State artists. The Free State-based radio veteran was sent packing by the station’s programmes manager, Mannini Nyokong, after allegedly admitting to have taken money from the Bothaville group called Gesh Lido.
DJ Finzo rubbished claims of accepting any bribes, aka payola, from artists in exchange for airplay, saying the money was for a performance gig he did for the group back in 2023.
He also questioned the timing of his dismissal, with the incident occurring almost two years prior, claiming he believes that the matter was a result of some internal politics Giving his testimony during the Education Sunday, a service dedicated to honouring new graduates of the church, DJ Finzo said that because he trusted in God, doors opened for him.
“I still can’t believe I had worked for Lesedi FM for 15 years. I received a contract with Moja Love last week,” he declared while congregants clapped and ululated.
“I’m always in Gauteng every week to do gigs. I’m using the time that I couldn’t use when I was at Lesedi FM to do more gigs,” he said.
Moja Love spokesperson Nonzwakazi Cekete confirmed the news. “DJ Finzo makes a comeback to Giants of the City S4,” she said.
