Youth Netball JAM ignites energy, team spirit and youth empowerment at Bedworth Centre

“We believe sport builds more than skills — it builds character, discipline, and leadership"

VANDERBIJLPARK.- In celebration of Youth Month, Bedworth Centre hosted a vibrant and action-packed Youth Netball JAM, a community sports event that brought together netball enthusiasts, local supporters, and young female athletes from across the Vaal region on Saturday.

The event successfully achieved its goal of empowering young women.

Held at the Bedworth Centre Entrance 3 Parking Lot, Bedworthpark, the tournament featured eight teams, from Student Heights Accommodation, VUT, Sharpville, and Sebokeng, all competing in a full-day showdown of talent, teamwork, and determination. The event successfully achieved its goal of empowering young women through sport while promoting active, healthy lifestyles in a safe and festive environment.

It wasn’t just about netball; it was about giving young women a platform to shine.

From the opening whistle at 10:00, the atmosphere was electric — with live DJ sets, branded giveaways, kids’ entertainment, and even an inflatable netball court that added to the excitement.

After a series of exciting and hard-fought matches, the final standings were as follows:

  • Gold – Pink Panthers
  • Silver – Tsoelopele
  • Bronze – Aggisa

A special Best Shooter Trophy was awarded to Tanlee, whose standout performance was a highlight of the tournament.

The success of Youth Netball JAM was made possible through strong local partnerships. JAM Clothing came on board as the official event sponsor, delivering branded bibs for all teams, medals for the top three, and a fully branded netball kit for the winning team.
