On October 1, the streets of Sedibeng will echo with solidarity as thousands join hands for the Hold Hands™ 10K Human Chain, a powerful act of unity against racism, bullying, gender-based violence, and human trafficking.
Speaking to Ster North, organiser Don Sidiya says the chain will extend for 4.4 km along Moshoeshoe Road, with the event taking place from 10:00 to 13:00.
The event will bring together students, teachers, families, civic organisations, faith institutions, and local businesses in a vibrant expression of collective action and hope.
Organised by Connected Corp. in collaboration with a broad coalition of partners, including the Department of Education’s Sedibeng West District, SAPS, local churches, Luthando Arts Academy, Ipelegeng Transport Trust, Naledi Nkanyezi Private Hospital, Khulisa Disability Network, and more, the human chain is set to be one of the region’s largest peaceful demonstrations for social change.
“This is more than an event, it’s a movement for compassion, for justice, and for healing in our communities,” says Sidiya, who invites all members of the public to join and spread the word.
Ahead of the October event, Connected Corp. is hosting smaller community activations to build momentum and connect with areas most affected by social issues.
The activations have taken place across various schools around the Vaal, including Hoërskool Vanderbijlpark where learners formed a love formation, Three Rivers Christian Academy where a faith formation was formed, Phoenix High School where a Truth formation was formed, and General Smuts, which formed two abstract formations.
Connected Corp. extends an open invitation to groups not yet involved to participate in these lead-up events or the main human chain. For more information, call Don Sidiya on 0712215123 or email info@connectedcorp.africa….
