ZAMDELA – Seven suspects aged between 20 and 42 were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property in Zamdela.

According to Fezile Dabi District police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani, on August 18, at about 14:45, the Fezile Dabi District Trio Task Team and Sasolburg K9 received information about a white Toyota Fortuner suspected to be involved in house burglaries around Heilbron, heading towards Zamdela on the R57.

“The members swiftly followed the information and managed to stop the vehicle on the R57 near Vyandsvlei. Upon stopping the vehicle, the police found seven occupants inside the vehicle. When interviewed, they could not give an explanation about the items in the vehicle,” she said.

Rani said the suspects were arrested, and the vehicle and items were seized. “The seven suspects are expected to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of possession of suspected stolen property,” she said.
