The African Evolutionary Projects, led by Samuel Ramushu, Junior Ramushu and Marshia Masindi, facilitated their first project session, dubbed ‘The Holiday Hustle’ over five days at Meyerton High School. The initiative is a business focused programme that teaches students how to start, manage and grow their own businesses.
Speaking to Ster North, Samuel explained that the team equipped learners with essential entrepreneurial skills. The five day training covered business management, strategies for business growth, and the use of various marketing tools.
“We received support from Mokete Motsamai, MMC of Corporate Services in Midvaal, as well as Tshidi Mabe from the Savanna Skills Development Centre. We also received a food sponsorship from Gareth Rossouw, the Manager of Cancun Spur Meyerton,” Samuel said.
The team expressed its gratitude to all stakeholders for contributing to the success of the training and further acknowledged the encouragement received from Midvaal Mayor Peter Teixeira.
“We truly believe that this project has made an impactful change in the lives of participants. However, for them to experience success, great effort will be required from them,” the team noted. To conclude the successful week of training, a ceremony was held to acknowledge the learners’ participation, during which certificates were awarded.
“The reception from the students was incredible. They were highly motivated, and we hope that with our continued mentorship, they will succeed in their endeavours,” the team added.
