VANDERBIJLPARK – A shocking discovery has left residents of Joko Tea and motorists reeling in shock after a gruesome crime scene on the Golden Highway.
On Saturday, January 3, the body of a man believed to be around 30 years old was found with multiple stab wounds to his upper body and dumped in the open.
According to Sedibeng District police spokesperson, Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela, Vanderbijlpark police were alerted to the gruesome discovery at approximately 08:00.
“Police are investigating a case of murder following the discovery of a body along the Golden Highway,” said Maxambela.
“It is alleged that on Saturday, a sector vehicle attended to a reported murder scene behind Bophelong Bricks, opposite Joko Tea. Upon arrival, officers were met with a chilling sight when they found the lifeless body of an unknown male lying in the open. He had sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest, arms, and back, indicating a violent and sustained attack,” she said.
“At this stage, the circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown, and no further information is available,” Maxambela added.
The victim has not yet been identified, and police are appealing to the public for assistance.
