SASOLBURG – Three suspects are facing legal action after being caught in possession of a vehicle reported stolen earlier this week.
The suspects, aged between 27 and 33, are expected to appear before the Heilbron Magistrate’s Court.
According to Fezile Dabi District police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani, the incident began on March 5.
The complainant reported that his vehicle was parked near a local club in Sasolburg when he realised he had lost his car keys.
When he returned to the location the following day, the vehicle was missing. The owner immediately activated a tracking service and reported the incident to the police.
On March 6, at approximately 20:00, law enforcement received a tip-off regarding the stolen car’s location.
A joint operation by the Fezile Dabi District TRIO Task Team and Sasolburg Crime Prevention units tracked the vehicle to the R57 heading towards Heilbron. Officers spotted and stopped the vehicle in the Heilbron vicinity.
“Three suspects, one male (33) and two females aged 27 and 28, were arrested for possession of a suspected stolen vehicle. The stolen vehicle was recovered,” confirmed Rani.
The three individuals face charges of possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.
