VANDERBIJLPARK – A gruesome scene left motorists and commuters horrified after an unidentified man allegedly fell from a moving truck and died.

According to information at Ster’s disposal, the horrific incident happened at the traffic lights at the corner of Delfos Boulevard and the Golden Highway in the early hours of Wednesday (August 5).

Paramedics who declared the man dead on scene were the first to respond shortly after 06:00 before police arrived to secure the area.

For more than three hours, the deceased remained at the scene under a forensic foil blanket while investigators processed evidence before Forensic pathology removed his body.

Traffic slowed as motorists and factory workers returning from the night shift stopped to witness the aftermath.

For many, the incident brought back memories of another fatal tragedy at the same intersection.

In May last year, an alleged steel scavenger died after falling from a scrap truck on Delfos Road.

The man was reportedly offloading steel when the truck turned onto the Golden Highway.

As the vehicle slowed down to make a turn, the deceased allegedly attempted to jump off, lost his footing, and fell onto the road, sustaining fatal injuries.

While the latest incident remains under investigation, police had not commented on the matter by the time of publication.
