Elsje wins a new Toyota Agya in nail-biting car draw at Emerald
Hundreds of ticket holders were on the floor, hoping Lady Luck would smile on them, but only five would make it into the final.
Emerald gave away over R215 000 worth of prizes and cash on Wednesday, 27 July 2022, when the “Play It Win It” promotion came to a nail-biting end.
First, the five finalists were drawn and used two large dice to determine their score. Only the top two scores would stand a chance of winning the car. After an exciting dice-throwing contest, Jan and Elsje made it into the final.
But in the end it was, Elsje Vermeulen, a long-standing patron at Emerald who won the car. She has never been in the final at Emerald or owned a brand-new or red car. A trifecta for Elsje, and she was so pleased that her smile tried to wind itself around her head.
