SASOLBURG.- The police have confirmed that a sergeant attached to Sasolburg visible policing shot his life partner and turned the gun on himself.

The incident took place on Sunday, February 5 at the Sasolburg Police Station.

According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Motantsi Makhele the sergeant attached to Sasolburg visible policing and his life partner came to the police barracks next to the police station, where the police official was staying.

According to the information the member shot his 33-year-oldlife partner.

“The member himself was found with a gunshot wound in the head and his service pistol next to him.”

The police opened a case of murder and Inquest.

Provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, said she was “saddened by this incident”.
