Donkey swept away in Loch vaal floods rescued
A beloved donkey has been found alive in the Loch Vaal area despite being swept away by the floods.
Following localised flooding that had occurred after heavy rains over recent days, on Saturday, February 18, a donkey desperately stranded in the flooded river, was spotted in the Loch Vaal area.
A video of the donkey being swept away by the flood was shared on the Severe weather and information centre SA Facebook group.
Luckily, the donkey was rescued.
Announcing the success Vaal River Rats South Africa said: “To all those that are out saving people, thank you, absolute hero’s and that is how a community stands together.
This donkey was saved and there are currently a lot of people in need of assistance.
If you can get out and help, please do your part. It literally can save many more lives.”
