Due to open fires and the safety of users the Sonlandpark waste transfer station will be closed.

In a statement Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) advised users to use the Palm Springs landfill site located along the Golden Highway.

“Additionally, members of the public are advised to apply for a permit to use ELM waste facilities for the purpose of revenue, and effective control of these sites.”

ELM also encouraged the public to start waste separation at source to reduce the waste going for disposal as the waste sites are getting full.
