Residents blocked Skippie Botha Street in Sonland Park with burning rubbish on Monday morning, October 9.

This is apparently done in an attempt to force the Emfuleni Local Municipality to avoid illegal dumping at the transfer station.
According to Elize Aucamp, councilor for Ward 45 of the Emfuleni Local Municipality, this follows months of unsuccessful meetings between residents of Sonland Park and the mayoral committee member for environmental management and planning, Jonas Radebe, regarding illegal littering.
