Eight injured as taxi overturns

MEYERTON.- Eight people were injured when a taxi overturned on Sunday morning in Meyerton.

In a statement emergency service, Community Emergency Response Team (Cert SA) said medics who responded to the crash on Weilbatch Road, found the passengers lying on the scene.
“All occupants in the vehicle had been ejected, and a total of eight patients were found lying on the scene.”
“Our team assessed the patients and started stabilising on the scene. The patients had injuries ranging from moderate to serious.”
All the patients were transported to a nearby facility by ER24 and Gauteng Emergency Medical Services.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
In a separate accident on Sunday, eighteen people were injured after a minibus they were traveling in rolled several times, ejecting multiple people on Morris Road in Meyerton.
Cert SA said after exceptional teamwork by their crew, ER24, and Gauteng Emergency Medical Services, they managed to stabilise all patients and transport them to various hospitals in the area.
