MEYERTON. – The Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) has recently initiated the rehabilitation of Johan le Roux Road in Meyerton, allocating R18 million to the project. Over the years, Johan le Roux Road has suffered from deterioration due to factors such as wear and tear, weather conditions, heavy traffic loads and other environmental influences.

In a statement, the municipality emphasised the crucial role of the said road in facilitating the movement of goods and services essential to the local economy.
The road also handles heavier loads and experiences increased traffic, necessitating its rehabilitation.
The project will entail the complete reconstruction of the road structure, including the removal of existing pavement and base layers to be replaced with new materials. MLM confirmed that ten Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) have been contracted to execute various aspects of the project, including TLB hire, security, paving, site establishment, and drainage.
