Support Laerskool Sonlandpark’s charity picnic

Mothers will also get to spend time with the girl children and act as their female role models on the day.

VEREENIGING. – It takes a village to raise a child, this is what the Laerskool Sonlandpark team aims to instill through out the community through their upcoming Rainbow Family Day picnic that will be held on March 15. The day, which promises to be both epic and colourful starts at 09:00 until late.
Physical Educator, Mosia Twala says the event doubles fundraiser which will help aid pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“As teachers, we noticed that some of the kids from our school are in need of things such as school shoes, uniform and toiletries.
The Rainbow Family Fun Day Picnic is a unique and inclusive event aimed at raising funds for our needy learners and providing a day of joy and connection for all attendees.
“We have incorporated the “adopt a child for a day” concept, allowing more fortunate families to spend the day with those who may not have parents.
Mosia says this will help children get a feeling of what it is like to spend time in a family unit. He further stated that this will give boy children experience what it is like to have a male figure as a role model.
“We encourage fathers to teach the boys how to braai and also do some of the fun activities that will be available on the day with them.
Mothers will also get to spend time with the girl children and act as their female role models on the day.

Kids will be able to go on all the rides that will be displayed at the picnic on the day.

Twala urges members of the community to support the initiative, adding that all proceeds from ticket sales will go towards supporting the needy learners and ensuring they have access to the resources they need to thrive academically and personally.
Tickets will be available for purchase at the event, with prices set at R80 for learners and R50 for adults.
For more information, members of the community can contact the school on 0164291562.
