Subsequently, he followed them and brandished a knife, stabbing the deceased once before fleeing towards Noble Road.

BOIPATONG.- The Boipatong Police have reported that on March 8 between 20:00 and 21:50, a 31-year-old individual was allegedly walking with two friends from a tavern near the Engen garage in Boipatong.

As they approached houses near Jet Nteo Secondary School, they encountered a man attempting to open a gate. This individual asked them if they had dagga (cannabis), to which they responded affirmatively.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela said that the unknown male then requested their assistance in opening the gate, but they ignored him. Subsequently, he followed them and brandished a knife, stabbing the deceased once before fleeing towards Noble Road.

Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to their injuries.

Maxambela stated that the police are investigating the incident as a case of murder and the motive behind the murder remains unclear at this time.

The suspect has been arrested.
