SEDIBENG. – The Sedibeng u/18 bowls team recently defended their title by winning a gold medal for the second consecutive year at the Junior Bowls Nationals held in Bloemfontein.
Sedibeng was represented by two u/15 teams, one u/18 team, and one u/25 team at the competition. Alex Badenhorst, Hanro Smith, Sonya Fourie, and Amber Alexanders joined forces to secure the gold medal by defeating BGN.
The u/15A team (Nathan Wilkinson, Tanya Fourie, Lewies Badenhorst, and Barend Steyn) brought home the bronze for the second year running.
The u/15B team (Theuns Kruger, Jessie Wilkinson, Tristan Jooste, and LizeMarie Steyn) finished 6th overall. The u/25 team (Bradley Wilkinson, Frans Van Kradenburg, Rico Smith, and Simone Steyn) also finished in 6th place overall and made a significant impact by defeating BGN, thus eliminating them from medal contention.
