High class training for Vaal’s karateka

Excitement reigned supreme when the Vaal's karate enthusiasts attended a seminar lead by the world's best karate instructors.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – The karateka from the Kuro-Obi Shotokan Karate-Do had the privilege of attending a training seminar with two of the best instructors in the world.

The chief instructor of the World Shotokan Karate-do Federation (WSKF), Hitoshi Kasuya Sensei, and the WSKF SA’s chief instructor, Mike Dukas Sensei presented a seminar on Saturday, April 20 at the Emfulenipark Primary School.

The morning session was attended by novice and intermediate karateka, and the afternoon session by advanced and black belt karateka.

Tatjana Radojevic-Rogowski Sensei said more than 100 students participated in Saturday’s training.

“Members benefitted from both sessions’ technical criteria given by Sensei Kasuya in his serious, albeit humorous and playful manner.”

Sensei Kasuya is a 9th Dan. On his short visit from Japan, he taught karatekas in, among others, Bloemfontein and Knysna. Sensei Dukas, an 8th Dan, came from Cape Town to join Sensei Kasuya.
