Murder and attempted murder in Evaton’s tavern shooting

"While they stood next to their vehicle, an unknown suspect approached and shot the man in the back of the head."

EVATON.- The Evaton Police are investigating a murder and attempted murder after a shooting at a Small Farms, Evaton tavern in the early hours of Saturday.
Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi said that officers responded to the scene shortly after 00:55 following reports of gunfire.
“An eyewitness, the girlfriend of the deceased, stated that she and her 34-year-old boyfriend were preparing to leave the tavern. While they stood next to their vehicle, an unknown suspect approached and shot the man in the back of the head. The driver of the Jetta, who had been waiting inside the vehicle and had arrived with the couple, was also shot by the same suspect before the assailant fled the scene,” said Msibi.
Msibi added that the driver was taken to Sebokeng Hospital for treatment, while the 34-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation into the incident continues.
