BOPHELONG.- Sedibeng Ster Sport’s S’khuluma no…this week looks at the career of the young Rethabile Buthelezi (12).

The future of Vaal Milano Ladies FC right back looks bright if her performance on Saturday is anything to go by. She was outstanding when her team played against Junior Swallows FC in the Mini Top8 Tournament at Sancta Maria Primary School. She was the busiest player on the field, going up and down on the right, attacking and defending at great lengths.
Based on her work trade S’khuluma no believes without doubt that she is a future Banyana Banyana star. Buthelezi is a Grade Seven learner at Bophelong Primary School and this is what she had to say in an exclusive interview with S’khuluma no after a great performance.
Q: You had a great game playing against those boys. How do you feel?
A: We always play against boys opponents and we always give them a hard time. They help us a lot especially to build strength. You can see there is not much difference between them and us.
Q: Where do you want to see yourself with football?
A: Like any young girl who plays football, I desire to play for our national team one day. I work hard to make my dream come true and I do not doubt that I will achieve this because I’m still young.
Q: With exams around the corner, how do you balance football and your studies?
A: I always make sure I balance the two, but I must say now the focus is on preparations to write my final exams. This is my last year in primary school and next year I’m going to high school.
Q: Are you ready for life in high school?
A: Most definitely, I’m looking forward to a new challenge.
