EVATON. – A case of culpable homicide is being investigated after a man died on the Golden Highway Wednesday morning.

Around 09:00 a police vehicle from the Kliprivier police station was driving from the south direction heading north on the Golden Highway next to Evaton Mall. The pedestrian was crossing the road and was hit by the state vehicle.

Police spokesperson Constable Thulisile Msibi said the pedestrian is unknown at this stage.

“He wore a red t-shirt, white sandals, and blue track pants. The pedestrian was declared dead by emergency services at the scene. The deceased is around 40 years old. A case of culpable homicide is open for further investigation.”
