Good Samaritans help woman recover lost shopping bags
"The person who found the shopping bags was recognised from the footage and I was told to go to the Vanderbijlpark Police Station where I received a warm reception."
VANDERBIJLPARK. – Lethabo Marago recently visited our offices to share the amazing story of how she recovered her lost shopping items at the Vaal Mall.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Marago said she went to the Vaal Mall on October 29 to do some errands. She said she bought some clothes for her son. However, when she got home, she realised she had left her shopping bags in the trolley in the parking lot.

“I then drove back to the mall and received prompt assistance from the security guards and the manager in the control room. They all attended to my problem with enthusiasm. The person who found the shopping bags was recognised from the footage and I was told to go to the Vanderbijlpark Police Station where I received a warm reception from Sergeant Tshilidzi Sikhipa. He communicated with security guards from Vaal Mall and was told to go to the control room,” explained Marago.
Marago said the footage and registration number of the person who picked up her shopping bags were given to the police officer. The police officer managed to locate the gentleman whose name is Japhta Makula. In a happy turn of events, Marago got back all of her shopping items.
She urges anyone who loses something at the Vaal Mall to get assistance from the helpful personnel in the control room.
