SEDIBENG.- The Vaal Marina Police together with Siyabangena patrollers, Working with Fire, Fire and Rescue, and Secret Eye Security conducted a career day for the Sakhisizwe Daycare in Mamello on Wednesday morning.

The children (4-5 years) were dressed according to their dream careers.

Constable Tshilidzi de Huis of the Vaal Marina SAPS said the children were taken to all the different departments and offices, and shown how the personnel conduct their duties.

“The kids were over the moon. They enjoyed every moment and asked different interesting questions. Station Commander Captain JB Greyling gave the kids a warm welcome to the station and they were also shown the holding cells. They were warned against bad behaviour and urged to listen to their parents or guardians to avoid getting in trouble.”

Each department was also given a chance to talk to kids, to empower and advise. In the end, the children were given snacks and drinks before being taken back to the daycare.
