RESA Ladies FC finish 4th on DGL

“I’m happy how we finished the season and I have no doubt that next season we are going to do better than this."

VEREENIGING.- Remember Elite Sports Academy (RESA) Ladies Team had a great season in the Gauteng Development Ladies League.

Both of their teams finished fourth on the log standing in the U14 and U16 categories. They held their own against big guns like Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and Tuks Ladies FC teams. In fact, they were the youngest team in the league with most of their U14 players aged between 12 and 13. Their U16 consisted of players between 14 and 15.

In an exclusive interview with Sedibeng Ster Sport at the beginning of the season, Solly Lekhooana said he would be happy to challenge Sundowns Ladies FC at the top of the log. He was confident that they would finish at the respective position on the log at the end of the season. This was the only team that gave Sundowns a hard time in the league.

“I’m happy how we finished the season and I have no doubt that next season we are going to do better than this. I’m very proud of these girls because they showed a never-die attitude, especially against Sundowns and Tuks who were our toughest competition. I do not doubt that next season we are going to be a team to beat considering how we finished the season,” said Lekhooana.

Meanwhile, RESA’s other divisions especially U17 had a great season in the GDL Stream A this past season.
