Social Economic Development initiative
"I wanted this certificate for many years but was unable to raise R900 to pay for the training."
VEREENIGING.- The African National Congress (ANC) Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Ward 15 branch recently led an initiative to secure training for interested Vereeniging community members as Certified Forklift Operators.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, ANC’s Harry Maleka said the first cohort of this programme has received their certificates and licenses, adding that this is a partnership that they secured with the DMT Training Centre as a Social Economic Development initiative to the community.
“Whilst the preparation for the second intake is underway, we look forward to creating more partnerships with SETA-accredited institutions to ensure our community members are empowered with the necessary skills to change their lives.”
Itumeleng Sebusho, one of the recipients, said, “I am proud that I finally got an opportunity to undergo this training. I wanted this certificate for many years but was unable to raise R900 to pay for the training. I am thankful to the ANC and the DMT Training Centre for their partnership as I am now competent, certified, and ready for the workplace.”
