Woman arrested in connection with Sharpeville man’s murder
Following the breakthrough in the case, Maxambela confirmed the arrest of a woman.

SHARPEVILLE. – A woman in her forties has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of David Tlali (42) from Tshepiso, Phase 5. Tlali was gunned down in August and his lifeless body was discovered by a passerby at the gate of his residence, next to his car.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela said the car belonging to the deceased was found abandoned at the scene.
“Preliminary investigations show that the deceased was shot as he opened his gate. He was found lying on the ground in the early hours of the morning.”
Speaking to Ster North, neighbours said they heard gunshots after 22:00 but were too afraid to go outside and check what was going on.
A friend of the family, Putsoe Thinane, said he is hurt by how his friend was killed. Thinane said the deceased had plans for his life, adding that the plans had been cut short.
The woman was arrested on Wednesday, November 20.
Following the breakthrough in the case, Maxambela confirmed the arrest of a woman.
“A suspect has been arrested. She is expected to make an appearance at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court soon.”
Maxambela said investigations in the case are ongoing.
