Reach Out Community Project hosts 16 days of Activism awareness campaign

EVATON.- Reach Out Community Project in conjunction with The Green Door Facility embarked on the 16 Days of Activism awareness campaign.
This event formed part of awareness for no violence against women and children and World AIDS Day celebrations. This initiative raised awareness, promoted safety, and advocated for a society free of violence and discrimination. The day’s programme started with a 3km Fun Walk, from Evaton Primary School in Ext 11 to the Reach Out Community Project premises in Ext 4, when community members took the streets under the theme Zero tolerance for violence Against Women and Children.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Pule Selai, who is The Green Door Facility Ambassador and Marketing Director, said the event was to raise awareness around gender-based Violence and HIV awareness.
Some of the stakeholders who were in attendance were NICRO, Green Door Facility, Department of Health, Lesakeng La Bontate, NAPWA, NACOSA, Entertainment Woza Nathi Education, Ghetto Fabulous, JK Kgotso, and New Life Centre Ministries Team. Selai hailed the event as a great success with speakers from various organisations addressing the community about GBV Against Women and Children among other issues.
“We want to thank everyone who made this event a success, especially our speakers and partners from other organisations. I do not doubt that we achieved our objective on the day and everyone went back home with valuable information about Gender-Based Violence Against Women and Children. This is the most challenging issue in our community.”
