Academies registration to take place at President Park Stadium
This is the second phase of registration as it was outlined and approved by the National Technical Director office in April 2023.
VEREENIGING.- The South African Football Association (SAFA) will embark on the 2025 academies registration process in Gauteng this weekend.
The President Park Stadium in Vereeniging has been one of the identified venues in Gauteng where the registration is scheduled to take place on Sunday. This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by Thulani Mthimkulu who is part of SAFA’s provincial technical staff.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mthimkulu said this is the second phase of registration as it was outlined and approved by the National Technical Director office in April 2023. Mthimkulu said registration will start at 10:00 and continue until 17:00. He urges the local academies and development teams/clubs to come and register. He said this would be helpful for the development of football in the region especially at club level.
To date, SAFA has embarked on talent identification through this programme all over South Africa.
This programme also caters for schools in the poorest of poor communities.
SAFA managed to identify exciting talent through this programme with the U15 national team crowned as winners during the CAF African Schools Championship COSAFA Qualifier that took place in Namibia last year in October.
