Vaal will be divided into two on Soweto derby

SEDIBENG.- The Vaal will be divided into two when Kaizer Chiefs clashes against their rivals Orlando Pirates in the upcoming Soweto derby.

Two local youngsters may face each other in this classic clash. Relebohile Mofokeng and his former primary school teammate, Naledi Hlongwane, may face each other in this much-anticipated derby. As one of the biggest derbies in South Africa, it is expected to be a sold-out affair at FNB Stadium on February 1 (Saturday).

Kick-off time is 15:30.

This derby always attracts a large number of crowds with some traveling all over the continent to watch their favourites. The local soccer fans have already made preparations to go and watch this derby that might see two of their own facing each other.

Mofokeng definitely will be in the starting line-up for Pirates, while Hlongwane might make his debut in top-flight football after being promoted to the Chiefs senior team. The two are the hottest property in South African football at the moment.  Mofokeng is scoring goals as if they are out of fashion for Pirates, while Hlongwane is also doing exceptionally well for the Chiefs reserved team. The young Hlongwane was part of the Chiefs team that beat Sekhukhune United in the Hollywood Bets Premier League last weekend.
