Another local youngster gets Bafana Bafana call up
Bafana Bafana will go to Egypt for a return leg against the Pharaohs on Sunday (March 9).
SEDIBENG.- Naledi Hlongwane still has to make his PSL debut but has already been called up for Bafana Bafana.
This Sebokeng-born youngster was part of the Bafana Bafana team that played a 1-1 draw against Egypt in the African Nations Championship qualifier match at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Sunday evening.
Hlongwane rose to stardom when he scored a brace against Magesi FC in the Carling Black Label Cup exhibition match at the end of last year. He stunned many when he produced a five-star performance and earned himself a Man of the Match Award. This is the same performance that forced Kaizer Chiefs to give him a first-team contract.
However, he still has to make his debut in top-flight football.

His selection for Bafana Bafana justifies his consistent performance for the Chiefs in the DSTV Diski Challenge. He is the man on top of his form scoring goals every weekend for the Chiefs DDC team, especially in crucial games.
The news of his Bafana Bafana selection was celebrated by his family and friends who took this to social media to congratulate him. Some who congratulated him were his former teammates, schoolmates, and coaches.
The social media was buzzing with excitement with many believing he is the future of South African football. However, many have asked for the Chiefs coach to give young Hlongwane a chance, seeing that the club is struggling in front of goals.

Hlongwane who has enjoyed the media’s attention recently, said that the call-up came sooner than expected. In fact, after his stunning performance in the Carling Black Label Cup exhibition match in December, he has been followed by the media. Bafana Bafana will go to Egypt for a return leg against the Pharaohs on Sunday (March 9).
