EVATON.- Colleagues, friends, political leaders, and the community paid homage to the award-winning photographer/journalist, Tumelo Mofokeng. Mofokeng’s memorial service was held at the Mafatsane Community Hall in Evaton on Thursday afternoon.
Mofokeng died at Sebokeng Hospital last Saturday.

Speaker after speaker described how Mofokeng loved his job, always carrying his camera as if he was ready for action. His colleagues at the Daily Sun said they would miss the hard news stories that Mofokeng used to write. Doreen Molefe, assistant editor at the Daily Sun, said it was no surprise that Mofokeng scooped the award for Journalist of the Year.
